WXIA's Busy Site
Not too long ago, WXIA-TV revamped its Web site.
I think it is a little busy. I actually thought that their previous site was one of the better TV News Web sites in Atlanta.
Management at XIA is also encouraging its reporters and photographers to blog on the station's Web site. This brings up a potential conflict of interest. Should a reporter, who ideally is objective and impartial, be offering opinions about stories they are covering under the auspices of their news outlet which is also supposed to be objective? It would be one thing if it was on their own site rather than the station's site. It's an interesting question.
I've heard through the grapevine that some reporters are pushing back a little bit, but that management is happy with the traffic the blogs are getting.
The lines between news and opinion continue to blur.
